Cakes for Cancer

The day before I entered middle school, just before my 12th birthday, I found out my mom had a rare form of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). In fact, I celebrated my birthday at MD Anderson hospital. We then learned about another boy my age who had the same diagnosis as my mom. When it was time for his birthday, I offered to make his cake. My sister, Amanda, suggested I make it part of my mission to make cakes for cancer patients. That's how I began "Cakes for Cancer."
